New Toys

Hayden is loving all his new toys from his birthday. We even had to pack up some of his "baby" toys to take to storage so we could make room for his new haul!

We had two frustrating issues with assembling 2 different Little Tykes toys and had to return to Toys R Us to get replacement parts. The basketball hoop set we got him had a hole in the bottom base which you are supposed to fill with water to make the base heavy. Fortunately we figured that out outside and not once it was in our living room! We exchanged the set for a new one and thankfully this one seems fine.

Then the ride-in fire engine toy he got had a piece cut incorrectly and would NOT fit into the other piece no matter how hard Phil and I tried. Even the guy at Toys R Us couldn't do it but luckily they had another one in stock and we were able to swap out the piece and that one fit fine. What has happened to the craftsmanship of toys these days? Seems like everywhere you turn there are recalls and safety issues with toys, not to mention these frustrating inconveniences. Someone really needs to be more in charge of QC.
